Support Maryland’s Landmark Global Warming Legislation!

The Global Warming Solutions Act will put Maryland at the forefront of the fight against global warming. Introduced in the Maryland legislature by Senator Paul Pinsky and House Majority Leader Delegate Kumar Barve, the bill proposes to:

  • Use a “cap and trade” mechanism to reduce global warming pollution to 1990 levels by the year 2020;

  • Set up an Office of Climate Change to lead efforts to reduce greenhouse gases; and

  • Assign the Maryland Department of the Environment the task of creating a game plan to meet the goal of reducing global warming pollution by 2020.
