Tell Obama to stop Shell from drilling in the Arctic Ocean

Drilling for oil is destructive.  Drilling for oil in the Arctic Ocean could be catastrophic.

Oil companies have shown us time and time again their blatant disregard for environmental safety precautions.  Oil and gas companies have no proof that they even have the capacity to clean up a major spill in the Arctic’s extreme conditions. In the Arctic, one of our world’s last intact ecosystems and home to communities who depend solely on the ocean for survival, any accident from drilling could have disastrous results.

We at Friends of the Earth are partnering with Oceana, the Center for Biological Diversity, Ocean Conservancy, and Alaska Wilderness League to stop Shell from drilling and potentially destroying the Arctic Ocean.

Please help us by signing the petition below urging President Obama to stop Shell from drilling.

Dear President Obama,
We urge you to stop Shell from drilling for oil in the Arctic Ocean. The repercussions of oil drilling are likely to be disastrous for the people and animals that depend on the Arctic Ocean for survival. The Arctic is one of our world’s last intact ecosystems. Please don’t allow Shell to endanger it.
