Tell Obama to make a real environmental impact: Stop the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline
The Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline would transport some of the dirtiest oil on the planet -- tar sands oil -- from Canada to Texas, exposing America’s heartland to oil spills along the way.
If the pipeline is built, its impacts will resonate along its nearly 2,000-mile route and around the world. Producing tar sands oil creates three times more global warming pollution than producing conventional crude oil.
President Obama acknowledged earlier this month that tar sands may be destructive and the impacts need to be studied. While talk is great, he needs to stop this dangerous pipeline in its tracks.
