Tell Gerber: no GMO apples in baby food
One bad apple really can spoil the whole bunch, especially if it’s been genetically engineered. The new genetically engineered Arctic Apple® could be approved to enter our food supply as early as the end of 2013, and like other GMOs it won’t be labeled and won’t have undergone independent safety testing.
Apple growers and consumer alike have said they don’t need or want this unnecessary GMO apple, but it will soon end up in everything from baby food to school lunches, posing risks to our health, our environment and apple farmers across the US.
Baby food companies are one of the most significant purchasers of apples and Gerber is one of the world’s largest baby food companies.
