California: Lead the way in saving bees
Spring is in full swing, and bees and the two-thirds of food crops that they pollinate are still in serious trouble. With federal regulators dragging their feet, it's time for California to lead the way on stopping bee die-offs.
Right now, California has the opportunity to lead the nation on this issue. The state began its review of neonicotinoid pesticides in 2009, but the California Department of Pesticide Regulation has yet to finish the evaluation and issue a final determination. AB 1789 will ensure this process stays on track.
