Other Ways to Give

Give a gift membership

A gift of $25 or more entitles your friend or relative to full membership benefits, including a year long subscription to the Friends of the Earth newsmagazine, the right to vote in our annual election, invitations to special events, and the knowledge that they are part of the fight to build a healthy and just world.

Tribute and memorial gifts

Tribute and memorial gifts are a thoughtful way to honor someone special or remember someone who has passed away.  When you give we will send a card to the person you specify, telling them of your gift and how it will affect the work Friends of the Earth does to help our planet and the people who depend on it.

Including Friends of the Earth in your estate plans

Charitable gifts included as part of your long-range estate and financial planning can be a wonderful way to provide lasting support for Friends of the Earth. It can be possible to make a real difference while minimizing taxes and settlement costs and conserving more of your estate for loved ones.

Estate gifts can be funded with cash, securities, real estate, or other property. There are many ways to leave your legacy – through gifts that are simple to carry out and can even provide income, tax benefits, and peace of mind that you are championing a healthy earth for future generations. Gifts of stocks and securities

You can also choose to support Friends of the Earth through stocks and retirement accounts. You can donate appreciated stock and instead of paying taxes, receive a sizeable charitable deduction, while also getting the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to protect our environment. To discuss these and other options, please contact Peter Stocker toll free at 1 866-217-8499, ext. 216 or via e-mail at pstocker@foe.org.

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) #12067

If you’re a federal employee, you can support Friends of the Earth by participating in the Combined Federal Campaign. Look for Friends of the Earth -- CFC #12067 -- in your campaign catalog. If you're not a federal employee, you can give to Friends of the Earth through a corporate, state, city or municipal campaign by supporting Earth Share.

Earth Share

Earth Share, a nationwide network of America's leading non-profit environmental and conservation organizations, works to promote environmental education and charitable contributions through workplace giving campaigns. Earth Share provides environmentally conscious employees and workplaces with the opportunity to support hundreds of environmental groups through a charitable giving drive. Friends of the Earth is a founding member of Earth Share.

Employees who contribute to Earth Share can specify that their entire contribution benefit Friends of the Earth. Alternatively you can give a general contribution to Earth Share and your donation will be divided among the environmental groups Earth Share benefits.

Either way, by supporting Earth Share, you also support us and the planet. To find out if your employer partners with Earth Share, contact your HR department. To find out more about setting up an Earth Share campaign with your employer, please contact Peter Stocker toll free at 1 866-217-8499 x216.

Matching gifts

Many employers, as part of their employee benefits package, will match donations made by employees to charitable organizations. Check with your personnel office to see whether your company has a matching gift program. If it does, your gift to protect the environment could have twice the impact.
