The Arctic Refuge is the largest national wildlife refuge in the United States. As one of the last pristine aquatic ecosystems in the country, it should be protected, not opened for Big Oil development. We need Congress to pass The Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act. And we need you with us to ensure it passes.

Dear Senators,

I am writing in hopes that you will support HR 1146, The Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act. This act would circumvent some of the destruction and inequity caused by the Trump Administration’s tax cut plan. In doing so HR 1146 would be a step in the right direction towards restoring protections for the Arctic Refuge. Climate devastation is unquestionably one of the biggest issues of our time and it deserves to be handled as such. This means you, your fellow colleagues, and everyday people like me cannot afford any programs that open up untouched lands and waters to the fossil fuel industry.

We need legislators like you to take concrete actions and ensure as much of our planet as possible is protected from environmental destruction, and we need bold progressive legislation that protects us from any worsening impacts of climate change.

With all that being said, I sincerely hope that you will support the passing of HR 1146 -- The Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act. Our health and environment depend on it.
