Help send 40,000 comments: Tell NOAA to protect endangered beluga whales!

Additional Cook Inlet oil and gas drilling is risky for people and the environment. It will further devastate wildlife such as the endangered beluga. It threatens local communities with oil and gas spills. And it contributes to climate chaos. In order to ensure the Cook Inlet is protected, we need to show NOAA there is a groundswell of opposition to this proposal.

Alaskan waters have continuously proven to be far too fragile to expand drilling for oil and gas there. I am dismayed that Hilcorp would even consider applying for an application to harm and displace the local marine wildlife like the endangered beluga whale just to expand their profits. And I’m further dismayed that NOAA would even consider this application.

Cook Inlet and its marine inhabitants are essential to the economy of the surrounding communities. Especially the indigenous communities. These waters and their inhabitants should be protected on not continually turned over to corporations like Hilcorp for their dirty business. As an agency NOAA should be protecting these waters and the marine life that depend on them for future generations and the local indigenous communities to enjoy.

I strongly urge you to reject Hilcorp’s application. Please protect these essential waters and marine wildlife that inhabit them.
