Tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect the Mojave Poppy Bee!

Mojave Poppy Bees are dying from habitat loss, diseases, pollution, and of course -- pesticides. And if this bee disappears, more than one endangered species will be lost -- it’s the only pollinator for rare desert wildflowers.

To whom it may concern,

I urge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to immediately list the Mojave Poppy Bee as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act.

The Mojave Poppy Bee is on the brink of extinction and is vitally important to the vibrant wildflowers of the Mojave Desert. This is a big problem for endangered plants in the Desert like the Las Vegas bear-poppy and the dwarf bear-poppy.

Their rapid decline is linked to a variety of factors including habitat loss, diseases, pollution, invasive species, and aerial spraying of pesticides. We know that the world is in the midst of a mass extinction crisis. Species from bees to birds are in rapid decline, and these threatened bees need as much protection as they can get.

Future generations deserve to experience the beauty of the poppy flowers in spring in the Mojave Desert, but that will likely be impossible if the Fish and Wildlife Service doesn’t take steps to protect this important bee.

I urge the Fish and Wildlife Service to list the Mojave Poppy Bee as an endangered species.
