Tell your legislators to ban fracking nationwide!

Right now, the fossil fuel industry is putting kids from Pennsylvania to Colorado at risk of leukemia. Fracking projects in their communities are linked to childhood cancer and other health impacts.

But Congress is fighting back. Senator Bernie Sanders, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and others introduced the first-ever national ban on fracking last week. We need you to act now and help build support for this critical bill.

Dear Legislator,

I am writing because fracking poses a serious threat to our drinking water, air, and the planet. If natural gas remains the dominant energy source through 2050, annual greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector will be higher in the coming decades than they are today!

The idea that fracking helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions is false. Dangerous new gas infrastructure will only continue to push us toward climate chaos. Science shows that in the next decade we must drastically cut greenhouse gases by stopping the extraction and burning of fossil fuels, and transition to 100 percent clean, renewable energy to avert the worst effects of climate change.

This is why your support of The Fracking Ban Act S.3247 and H.R. 5857 is important. The Fracking Ban Act would immediately halt new fracking and natural gas infrastructure and ban fracking nationwide by 2025.

It's the legislation we need to move us off fossil fuels and toward a clean energy future.
