Tell your Senators: Don’t exploit coronavirus to bail out corporations!

The coronavirus has shaken our communities. And it’s unacceptable that Senate Republicans are more interested in helping business interests rather than the public interest.

The only way out of this crisis is for everyone to come together and put the community over corporations. We need you to send that message to your Senators before it's too late.

Dear Senator,

The COVID-19 crisis is causing mass panic and uncertainty around the globe.  As your constituent, I expect you to lead the way in Congressional and Federal economic relief by ensuring that any aid package puts people first over corporations and Big Polluter interests.

The package must:
•	Provide paid sick leave, unemployment benefits, healthcare cost assistance, or other financial assistance for all, especially the most vulnerable – including low-wage workers, low-income people, the undocumented and those on the front lines of fighting this pandemic.
•	Provide assistance for people in the food system who are impacted by closures of local marketing outlets, including school districts, restaurants, and farmers markets.
•	Increase support for our healthcare system, including adequate staffing and protections for healthcare workers, who are vital to sustaining our communities during this crisis.
•	Significantly expand financial and technical support to assist local and regional food producers who are working to meet the growing local and regional demand for healthy food  during this COVID-19 health emergency.
•	Contain absolutely no bailouts for Big Polluters and other corporate special interests – including the cruise ship industry, aviation, the fossil fuel industry, Big Ag and more.

Mitch McConnell’s recently released bill is an unacceptable false start. Please do everything in your power to prioritize aid to those in need and eliminate corporate bailouts in this legislation.
