Tell the Trump Administration to protect our oceans and coastal communities!

Trump's Department of Interior is considering a royalty relief package that would make it cheaper to drill in our public waters. This puts marine life at risk. And threatens coastal communities that rely on tourism -- communities already facing economic downturns from coronavirus.

We can’t let the DOI sneak through more giveaways to Big Oil that harm our planet while the country’s attention is on a public health crisis.

To whom it may concern:

It is of paramount importance that you refrain from suspending or reducing royalties for all categories of Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) leases during the current coronavirus national emergency. I also urge you to place a hold on any further OCS lease sales during this time.

At the best of times, the Department of Interior should be making strides to protect all regions of our OCS from ongoing and expanding offshore drilling. We are now facing a global pandemic of lethal proportion, and the federal government is obligated to do all it can to protect the public from the impacts of this national health emergency.

I urge you to place the public above the profits of such a dangerous and polluting industry at this time. Please refrain from holding new lease sales and do not suspend or reduce royalties for all categories of OCS leases during this pandemic.
