Tell the Interior Department: Stop letting polluters destroy our wild places for free!

The Department of the Interior is already selling our public land to Big Polluters, and now it wants to make mineral extraction even cheaper -- padding polluters’ profit margins even further. We can’t let it get away with handing over more money to Big Oil.

To whom it may concern:

I urge you to stop the proposed amendment changes on how coal, oil and gas companies calculate payments for extracted minerals on public land. If implemented, this rule would be just another way for Big Polluters to scam taxpayers into plundering our majestic places.

The BLM is already selling off many of our wild places to Big Polluters, and this change devalues our natural minerals, while giving polluters the green light to destroy our wild places. It is critical that our lands are not destroyed for all our natural minerals, while lining the pockets of Big Oil.

Furthermore, this same effort was previously attempted last year. It was shot down in court, proving that our minerals are valuable and should be treated as such.

I urge you to stop the proposed amendments from moving forward, just as they were halted last year.
