Take action to protect wolves!

Trophy hunters in Montana were given the green light to kill gray wolves as quickly as possible. Only 150 wolves are expected to survive.

Trappers can use neck snares to kill wolves. The strangling devices are hidden under dirt, brush, or snow along wolves’ travel routes -- and it is all legal in Montana!

Can I count on you to demand the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission reject these new laws before it’s too late?

To the Montana Fish and Wildlife Service:

I oppose the wolf-hunting regulations that allow night hunting, baited hunting/trapping, and snare trapping. These are the cruelest ways to harm and kill an animal. Montana already has aggressive hunting and trapping seasons for wolves — and its wolf population is already decreasing. The state doesn't need to expand the seasons or approve new tools for killing wolves.

Increasing the number of wolves to be massacred is incomprehensible when gray wolf populations are already functionally extinct throughout the rest of the United States.

Additionally, the baiting and trapping tactics increase the risk of killing other wildlife and even family pets.

Wolves are essential to healthy ecosystems, causing a trickle-down effect that increases plant and animal biodiversity. They are also an integral part of Montana’s culture.

Please take immediate action to protect gray wolves.
