ACT NOW: Save bear cubs from trophy hunters

Right now, while nursing mama bears and their cubs are settling down for hibernation, trophy hunters are preparing to target and kill them.

A law prohibiting hunters from shooting bear cubs and wolf pups in their dens was overturned by the Trump administration. We must urge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to restore this bill immediately. It could save thousands of bears.

To the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,

Bear hunting season is happening now across the U.S, and thousands of bears are at risk of being killed by brutal hunting tactics.

I am writing to urge you to end the Trump administration's policy of allowing hunters to enter vulnerable animals' dens and kill wolf pups, bear cubs, and other innocent animals. This rule is especially egregious because hunting is permitted in wildlife preserves -- the very places wildlife should be protected. There is no reason for vulnerable animals to be hunted in their dens and baited with bacon grease or donuts. There is no reason for hunters to shoot swimming caribou or target animals from the air -- all of which the Trump administration chose to allow but which you can overturn.

This is a bipartisan call for change: 79 members of Congress urged the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to retain wildlife protections in Alaska, but the Trump administration steamrolled ahead as a handout to trophy hunters. You have the power to stop these killings, defend wildlife and protect vital species before we lose them for good. Please do your part to end the cruelty.
