Tell the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service NOT to remove protections for the Florida Panther!

The Florida Panther is considered THE MOST ENDANGERED big cat on earth. With only about 200 of these iconic felines remaining and devastating human threats taking more panther lives every year, we cannot allow the government to remove their protections if we want to prevent their extinction.

Please tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to KEEP the Florida Panther protected under the Endangered Species Act to help save these beloved cats from extinction!

Dear FWS:

Plants and wildlife are going extinct at an unprecedented rate. Scientists and world leaders agree that biodiversity loss will exacerbate climate change and vice versa.

Many at-risk species are rapidly facing the consequences of the climate crisis and are in critical danger of extinction, like the Florida Panther.

With only about 200 Florida Panthers left remaining, these iconic felines are considered the MOST endangered big cats on earth. And with 27 deaths in last year alone, the declining population of Florida Panthers is far from recovered.

Despite all of this, your agency has been quietly moving forward with plans to gut protections for Florida Panthers. We need MORE protections to keep these animals safe from extinction, not less. If you remove their ESA listing, chances of recovering the Florida Panther’s fragile population are little to none.

That’s why I am writing to you today to URGE you to keep Florida Panthers listed under the Endangered Species Act to help protect these treasured animals before it’s too late and they vanish forever.
