Last year, we lost Cappuccino and Marina, and now, a young orca in the Southern Resident pods is presumed dead -- leaving only 73 of these beloved creatures remaining in the wild.
One of the biggest threats to this endangered species is Big Oil and Big Shipping. These greedy corporations are planning two massive projects -- the Trans-Mountain Pipeline expansion and the Roberts Bank T2 terminal all for the sake of profit. Both destructive plans gravely threaten the livelihood of orcas by driving away their vital food supply and threatening their sensitive habitats with toxic oil spills. These corporate projects will drive orcas to starvation, put them at risk of a fatal oil spill, and disrupt their ecosystem.
We MUST fight back now to stop corporate greed from destroying our oceans and wiping out the remaining Southern Resident orcas.
