Urge the EPA to immediately BAN neonics and save bees by 11:59pm TONIGHT!

Over the last two decades, the beloved Western Bumblebee population has dropped 93%! In the same time period, neonic pesticides have made U.S. agriculture nearly 48x MORE TOXIC to bees.

Widespread use of neonics is making the pollen and nectar that bees need toxic. Many wild bee populations are dwindling and could vanish forever. Meanwhile, the EPA is poised to let neonics wreak havoc for another 15 years.

To the EPA:

I urge the EPA to ban neonicotinoid pesticides to protect pollinators, endangered species, and other wildlife. There is overwhelming evidence demonstrating that neonicotinoids harm pollinators, and data show that many threatened and endangered species are likely to be adversely affected by these chemicals. In addition, emerging evidence associates neonicotinoids with harm to human health.

The United Nations estimates that 40 percent of invertebrate pollinator species, including species of bees and butterflies, face extinction. In recent years, U.S. beekeepers have lost an average of 40 percent of their hives. Over the last twenty years, monarch butterfly populations have declined by nearly 90 percent. According to a meta-analysis of research on insect declines, neonicotinoids and other pesticides are one of the leading factors impacting insect populations.

Neonicotinoid pesticides pose a significant threat to many critical species. I urge the EPA to ban neonicotinoids immediately.
