Neonics are threatening pollinators, people, and the planet. Critical pollinator populations like bees are rapidly dropping, while Big Ag continues to profit off selling the harmful neonics pesticides that are driving these drastic declines, putting entire ecosystems at risk.

●   The EU has already banned the worst neonics.
●   The UN has stated that neonics are so hazardous that they should be “severely restricted.”
●   Some states in the U.S. have enacted laws to limit consumer use of neonics.
●   And the EPA itself has warned that the three most commonly used neonicotinoids threaten the existence of more than 200 endangered plant and animal species.

Yet the EPA has FAILED to do its job in protecting us from these toxic pesticides -- and the agency could actually APPROVE neonics for another 15 years!

Friends of the Earth and over 60 environmental groups have already filed a legal petition with the EPA to hold Big Ag accountable. But in order to have the strongest impact, we need to show strong public support, so we’re urgently calling on 4,721 more grassroots activists like you: Can we count on you to take action NOW and DEMAND a BAN on toxic neonics?

To the EPA:

I urge the EPA to ban neonicotinoid pesticides to protect pollinators, endangered species, and other wildlife. There is overwhelming evidence demonstrating that neonicotinoids harm pollinators, and data show that the continued existence of more than 200 endangered plant and animal species is threatened by these chemicals. In addition, emerging evidence associates neonicotinoids with harm to human health.

The United Nations estimates that 40 percent of invertebrate pollinator species, including many species of bees and butterflies, face extinction. In recent years, U.S. beekeepers have lost an average of 40 percent of their hives annually. Over the last twenty years, monarch butterfly populations have declined by nearly 90 percent. According to a meta-analysis of research on insect declines, neonicotinoids and other pesticides are one of the leading factors impacting insect populations.

Neonicotinoid pesticides pose a significant threat to many critical species. I urge the EPA to ban neonicotinoids immediately.
