SEND A MESSAGE TO THE EPA: Stop cruise companies from dumping toxic wastewater and spewing pollution in the Arctic!

Only about 900 Southern Beaufort polar bears remain. The Arctic is warming TWICE as fast as the rest of the world, putting these majestic creatures in peril.

Meanwhile, cruise corporations like Carnival Corp. charge massive ships through our oceans, including the Arctic, pumping out emissions that melt this sensitive habitat. In just one year, Carnival dragged 11,000 tons of TOXIC HEAVY FUEL through essential arctic habitats!

The EPA could set stronger regulations for corporate cruise companies and their dirty ships and PROTECT the Arctic -- but we need YOUR help to convince it to act.

Dear EPA,

The Arctic is one of the most fragile places on earth, suffering astronomically from the results of the human-driven climate crisis. As the earth is warming and temperatures rise, sensitive arctic habitats are melting and shrinking, leaving vulnerable species like polar bears struggling to survive.

The cruise industry is making things worse for this ecological disaster in the Arctic by increasing cruise ship traffic with massive vessels that release concerning amounts of climate-warming emissions, emit disruptive noise pollution that drives fish and critical food sources away, AND dump toxic chemicals that are seeping into the food chain itself.

Carnival Corporation is one of the worst offenders — carrying 11,000 tons of hazardous heavy fuel oil in a single year through Arctic waters — nearly three times as much as its largest competitor.

I am calling on your agency to take immediate steps to enact stricter regulations and policies to rein in cruise ship pollution in the Arctic in order to protect this region and its wildlife before it's too late.
