Milkweed — a vital plant to monarch survival — is being decimated by Bayer-Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller. Now, these beloved orange and black butterflies are being pushed closer to EXTINCTION every year.

A world without monarch butterflies wouldn’t just be less beautiful but less plentiful as well. Monarchs are important pollinators that help keep our ecosystems healthy. But without enough milkweed, these precious pollinators could soon vanish forever.

Roundup isn’t just killing milkweed and threatening endangered monarchs. Glyphosate has also been linked to serious human health risks like cancer and reproductive harms!

But greedy Bayer-Monsanto continues to prioritize pesticide profits above people, pollinators, and the planet — even spending millions of dollars to manipulate science, evade regulations, and cover up the truth about how dangerous Roundup really is.

Dear Bayer-Monsanto,

Many species of pollinators are on the brink of extinction. A key driver of their decline is the toxic pesticides your company manufactures, including neonicotinoids and glyphosate.

When bees are exposed to neonicotinoids, they can be killed directly, and their ability to forage, navigate, fight off pests and diseases, and reproduce can be impaired. The EPA has determined that the most commonly used neonicotinoids jeopardize the continued existence of over 200 threatened and endangered species.

Glyphosate has decimated milkweed, the only food source for monarch butterfly offspring. The EPA has determined that glyphosate is likely to injure or kill 93% of the plants and animals protected under the Endangered Species Act.

Pollinators are vital to many ecosystems. Without bees and other pollinators, over 180,000 species of plants would not thrive, including many that provide food and natural resources for humans. In fact, one in three bites of food requires pollination.

I am urging Bayer-Monsanto to take responsibility for the toxic impacts of its products and immediately STOP selling neonicotinoids, glyphosate and other pesticides that pose risks to our pollinators.
