Demand the EPA bans bee-toxic neonics instead of approving them for 15 more years!

Neonics can KILL BEES on contact. The EPA has found that they jeopardize the continued existence of more than 200 threatened and endangered species.

But still, neonics are the world’s most widely used insecticides. They are long-lasting, staying in the environment for months to years. Not to mention, they can have harmful effects on our ecosystems and food supply. Yet they are still applied to farms and lawns across the world.

While the European Union has already banned the worst neonics, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency continues to allow their widespread use. We can’t let them put pesticide industry profits above the health of people, pollinators, and the planet.

If we don’t demand action immediately, the EPA could soon approve these dangerous pesticides for another 15 years! Will you be one of the bold grassroots environmentalists who speaks up today?

To the EPA:

I urge the EPA to ban neonicotinoid pesticides to protect pollinators, endangered species, and other wildlife. There is overwhelming evidence demonstrating that neonicotinoids harm pollinators, and the EPA found that three of the most commonly used neonicotinoid insecticides jeopardize the continued existence of more than 200 threatened and endangered species. In addition, emerging evidence associates neonicotinoids with harm to human health.

The United Nations estimates that 40 percent of invertebrate pollinator species, including species of bees and butterflies, face extinction. In recent years, U.S. beekeepers have lost an average of 40 percent of their hives annually. Over the last twenty years, monarch butterfly populations have declined by nearly 90 percent. According to a meta-analysis of research on insect declines, neonicotinoids and other pesticides are one of the leading factors impacting insect populations.

Neonicotinoid pesticides pose a significant threat to many critical species. I urge the EPA to ban neonicotinoids immediately.
