Tell Congress to OPPOSE efforts to gut bedrock environmental protections!

The National Environmental Policy Act protects us from unfettered fossil fuel projects. Without it, greedy companies could more easily POLLUTE and POISON our communities.

New bills in Congress could weaken the NEPA and give fossil fuel companies the greenlight to pollute even more – potentially without community or Tribal input.

Your representatives have to listen to you, which is why we need your help right now to send a message to your Congressmembers and ask them to vote against any bills to weaken NEPA.

Dear Legislator,

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to oppose any bills that weaken our nation’s bedrock environmental laws, namely the National Environmental Policy Act (aka NEPA). Referred to as the “magna carta” of our country’s environmental laws, NEPA is fundamental to the protection of our communities, lands, and waters. It ensures those impacted by proposed projects have a say in what is sited in their own neighborhoods. Attempts to erode NEPA threaten people and the planet.

Legislation like Senator Bill Cassidy’s “Revising and Enhancing Project Authorizations Impacted by Review (REPAIR) Act” and Senator Joe Manchin’s “Building American Energy Security Act” would significantly limit NEPA’s effectiveness and fast-track dangerous fossil fuel projects. I urge you to oppose these and any other bills that aim to weaken NEPA.
