Tell Home Depot and Lowe’s to STOP selling toxic Roundup!

It’s simple. Roundup’s main ingredient, glyphosate, harms bees and harms people.

Home Depot and Lowe’s are making a profit from selling Roundup despite its dangerous consequences. They will continue selling it until environmentalists like you fight back.

To whom it may concern,

While Bayer announced that it will reformulate Roundup by replacing glyphosate with alternative active ingredients for the U.S. consumer market this year, glyphosate-based Roundup is still on store shelves.

Glyphosate is a probable human carcinogen and has been associated with a range of other serious health problems. Glyphosate also poses a threat to 93% of U.S. endangered species, is a primary driver of the decimation of monarch butterfly populations, and is toxic to bees.

As a customer, I expect your company to protect the health of people, pollinators, and the planet by making the following commitments:

- Eliminate all products containing glyphosate from stores and online sales immediately;

- Do not stock the reformulated Roundup product unless the new active ingredient is demonstrated to be safe;

- Increase offerings of organic approved products and other safer alternatives (see the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s list of active and inert ingredients approved as minimum risk pesticides);

- Given that half of all herbicides offered by your company contain highly hazardous ingredients, according to a recent toxicity analysis, set goals to decrease sales of toxic pesticide products and make your shelves safer overall;

- Publicize progress toward these commitments to demonstrate that your company has taken steps to protect pollinators and human health and will continue to do so.

Taking these actions would demonstrate your company’s continued commitment to sustainability and to protecting consumer health and the health of pollinator populations.
