SIGN NOW: Stop Big Oil and the shipping industry from KILLING orcas!

Only 74 Southern Resident orcas remain, and the biggest threats to their survival are two corporate megaprojects—the Trans-Mountain Pipeline expansion and the Roberts Bank T2 Terminal, two massive constructs built by Big Oil and Big Shipping for the sake of profit. These endangered whales are already clinging to survival, and they are just one single oil spill away from being completely WIPED OUT! And since pollution harms all ocean creatures, including Chinook salmon—their primary food supply—these orcas are in constant stress and starving from lack of fish!

We MUST fight back now to stop corporate greed from destroying our planet, oceans, and pushing the remaining orca whales to EXTINCTION. Please speak up and take action now!

Over the years, oil companies have polluted our air, water, and climate. Much of this pollution is legal, but oil companies are also responsible for significant illegal pollution.

Currently, there are only 74 orca whales left in the Southern Resident pods, and unless your agency enacts federal policies that hold Big Oil corporations accountable for the damage they are causing, this number will drop to zero.

The hazardous chemicals dumped into our oceans have far-reaching impacts, including dead zones, pathogenic bacteria and habitat destruction. These killer whales’ main food source – the Chinook salmon – are themselves endangered, and only further diminished by pollution from this industry. Even worse, the industry is expanding their mega-polluting facilities and new projects like the Trans Mountain expansion are among the greatest threats to precious Southern Resident killer whale recovery. The whales and their food supply will not survive with these major disruptions to their ecosystem.

That’s why I’m calling on you to take immediate action: Please, do your part and commit to addressing the negative impact the oil and shipping industries have on communities, oceans, and marine wildlife through improved and increased regulation and oversight of these toxic industries.
