STOP CRUISE POLLUTION: Defend polar bear cubs, stand with coastal communities, and protect the Arctic region!

Helpless polar bear cubs are DROWNING in search of sea ice because global warming is melting their sensitive habitats. Climate experts agree that in order to STOP global warming from decimating the rest of the Arctic, we must immediately mitigate greenhouse gases.

Instead, the greedy cruise industry continues to accelerate and amplify the problem by flooding sensitive polar bear habitats and nearby coastal communities with harmful pollutants and toxic emissions that are devastating the air and water quality in the Arctic. Cruise ships can release more CO² than ONE MILLION cars!

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has done virtually nothing to rein in the reckless cruise industry or hold Big Cruise accountable for threatening precious wildlife, coastal communities, and public health in the Arctic.

We have the power to slow down this human-caused crisis before it gets worse, and give vulnerable polar bears a chance to AVOID EXTINCTION — but we cannot wait a moment longer to take action. Can we count on you to step up today in the fight to STOP Big Cruise from contributing to the destruction of what’s left of the Arctic before it’s too late?

Dear EPA:

The Arctic is one of the most fragile places on earth, suffering astronomically from the results of the human-driven climate crisis. As the Earth is warming and temperatures rise, sensitive arctic habitats are melting and shrinking, leaving vulnerable species like polar bears struggling to survive.

The cruise ship industry is making things worse for this ecological disaster in the Arctic by increasing ship traffic with massive vessels that release toxic amounts of climate-warming emissions, emitting disruptive noise pollution that drives fish and critical food sources away, AND dumping toxic chemicals that are seeping into the food chain itself.

Carnival Corporation is one of the worst offenders — carrying 11,000 tons of hazardous heavy fuel oil in a single year through Arctic waters — nearly three times as much as its largest competitor.

I am calling on your agency to take immediate steps to enact stricter regulations and policies to rein in cruise ship pollution in the Arctic in order to protect this region and its wildlife before it's too late.
