Tell the EPA: Stop prioritizing Big Plastic profits above our planet and public health!

Plastic is invading our oceans at unprecedented levels, and it’s also invading our bodies.

Plastic pollution is suffocating our oceans, while tiny toxic microplastics are making their way into our food and water, and even the air we breathe.

Big Plastic’s massive manufacturing plants and toxic petrochemical facilities burn through abhorrent amounts of greenhouse gases and release hazardous emissions into our environment — exacerbating global warming while fueling the plastic crisis.

AND, further perpetuating environmental injustice: these destructive plastic factories are disproportionately located near communities that are often low-wealth or BIPOC, directly exposing these individuals to all of these potent toxic pollutants.

Our fragile planet is being overwhelmed by plastics, and time is running out. We urgently need actionable federal solutions from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to STOP the PLASTIC APOCALYPSE from demolishing our precious Earth. Dear EPA Administrator Regan,

The world faces an indisputable plastic pollution crisis. Every year, the United States alone burns or buries 32 million tons of plastic in landfills and 8 million tons of plastic pollution escapes into the world's oceans. By 2025, more than 4.5 billion pounds of plastic packaging will be used every year.

99% of plastic is made from fossil fuels, and fracked gas is fueling an unprecedented boom in plastic production. Plastic is an environmental nightmare at every step of its life cycle.

Plastic is polluting our entire planet, from the beaches to the deepest depths of our oceans. And it is killing marine wildlife, including sea turtles. Plastic production also fuels the climate crisis by increasing greenhouse gas emissions and harming local communities with toxic air and water pollution – threatening public health and persisting in the environment for centuries.

The solution to the plastic pollution crisis is clear: Reduce the amount of unnecessary plastic produced. We can transform our extractive, throwaway economy into a regenerative, inclusive one that’s good for our country and creates U.S. jobs.
