SIGN NOW: STOP Trump’s “God Squad” from pushing critical wildlife to EXTINCTION!

Trump’s Day One executive order declaring a national energy emergency would revive “The God Squad,” a federal committee with the power to OVERRIDE critical regulations set under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in favor of DESTRUCTIVE fossil fuel and dirty energy projects: even if it leads to EXTINCTION.

The ESA provides life-saving protections for critical keystone species, like our nation’s beloved grizzly bears and gray wolves, that help maintain thriving ecosystems that we all depend on for our survival. Allowing Trump’s God Squad to prioritize Big Oil profits over the ESA’s critical safeguards wouldn’t just be DEADLY for imperiled wildlife and their habitats but DANGEROUS for people and the planet!

I am writing to you today to urge you to immediately pass S.J. Res. 10 to terminate Donald Trump’s executive order declaring a national energy emergency.

U.S. energy production is actually at a peak, and this executive order fabricates a sham “energy emergency” in an attempt to fast-track fossil fuels, thwart clean energy, and undermine environmental laws like the Endangered Species Act. The ESA is one of the country’s most popular and effective environmental laws, with a 99 percent effectiveness rate in saving listed endangered species.

Far from improving US energy security, Trump’s EO would actually harm it by accelerating fossil fuels and exacerbating climate change. In 2024, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation pointed out that extreme weather caused by climate change was the biggest factor undermining energy reliability.

The American people deserve reliable, affordable, and clean energy.  I urge you to vote YES to pass this legislation and block Trump’s attacks on clean energy.
